This was from a couple of Years ago when Fredericksburg, Texas was hit with a not so common snow storm. We happened to be at our place there with my wife and kids and the moment it begin to flurry, I wasted no time getting into the blind. I sat there from 1pm until dark that day and it did not dissapoint. Rarely does a Texas boy get to hunt in the snow, so I was taking full advantage of it. I saw a lot of deer movement that afternoon and evening and had a few nice mature bucks come in. One in particular, I had seen on camera few times, but never in person. I had been telling my wife that it would be a perfect deer for her to take, but she hadn't gotten a chance to get in the woods that year yet. Once dark hit and all my deer had left the area, I slipped out and made the long walk back up the hill to the house. I told my wife I felt he would be back in the morning and she had to get out there with me. The next morning, we woke up extra early and got out there well before sun up. As soon as the sun begin to creep over the Cedar and Oak trees surrounding the bottom draw where the blind sits, we saw nothing but white! Deer begin to move very early and it did not take long for the mature buck, we had gotten up extra early for, to show. She made a fantastic shot and he dropped less than 20 yards from his last broadside stance. This was her biggest buck to date and getting it in the snow added to the excitement for us all! We were able to get some great field pics and it is definitely a memory neither of us will forget!
